The Sport works with the OEM hardtop and gives you three options: no diagonals, single diagonal, or double diagonals. The Hard Core comes standard with a single diagonal and optional double diagonals or X-Brace. The Hard Core will not work with an OEM hardtop unless the hardtop version is specified. All M3 roll bars use 1¾ tubing.
- Mounts without removing soft top. - Fully sealed, weatherproof. NOTE: Fiberglass Color is Black. This model is called a "street" model because it comes with weatherproofing seals and a molded rear window. It is not, however, a factory hardtop.

If I had an option - I'd definitely take the hard-top over a soft-top. As mentioned, the hard-top looks like a normal coupe when the top is up, and looks just like any other convertible when the top is down. Yes, more weight, but meh, whatever. Similar discussion over at F3x forum.

I’ve driven an RF and it still feels like a convertible with the top down. I thought it would feel more restrictive but I didn’t even notice the part behind me that doesn’t retract. The soft top is insanely loud with the top up so there’s no way I’d get it as a daily driver. PPTEk.
