Blame the DPF for the reduced intervals on my 2.2 auto X type, it dictates when new oil is required based on regenerations, oil dilution again. The 2.7 may be different as it is a PSA unit, but with a DPF the correct oil must be used.

I have never had any problems with the car,the 2:2 litre engine is great with the 6 speed auto gearbox as my first x type was the 2:0 litre engine and 5 speed gearbox. With this car you are looking at it comes with a Diesel Particulate Filter in the auto and some manuel gearbox cars but was an optional extra in the manuels.
I have a 2011 post facelift Jaguar XFS 3 litre diesel. And noticed a couple of weeks ago a strong fuel smell in the cabin. I took it to Jaguar specialist who told me I needed a new catalytic converter. I got a second opinion and it was suggested that the DPF was blocked which was causing the smell.
